Heartbreak, Big Moves, and Hanging-in-There

Hello dear ones,

As many of you know, I’ve been in a big ol’ heartbreak portal for the past five weeks now. There’s always so much grief that comes when a partnership ends: grief for the relationship, which I loved; grief for the future I imagined with them; grief for all of the other heartbreaks of the past.

And, when you live together, there’s also so much upheaval. My ex moved out a few weeks ago and I will be saying goodbye to our little cottage home at the end of this month. Moving is one of the most activating things for my poor kid trauma. Which makes sense when you faced eviction at seventeen.

Right now I’m having to do so much work to surrender. I am my hang-in-there-baby kitten era, and I’m not loving it.

But I’m also trusting that I will find a home (LA housing is wild and terrifying), and I will heal from this heartbreak.

Amidst the heartbreak and the housing search, I’ve been struggling to keep up with my MFA work, and so today I’m giving myself permission to not share any writing here. Instead, I’m gonna tell y’all about a sale that I’m having so that I can a) have less to move and b) bring in some funds to help cover the security deposit and cost of moving that are upon me.
