Hello dear ones,
I’ve been having a hard time writing as of late. The majority of my energy has gone to finishing the guidebook for my deck of cards, and to a piece I’ve been working on in response to Jonah Hill’s texts to Sarah Brady. I was hoping to send out the letter today, but it needs more time. It feels so hard to pause on this newsletter — especially when I know that many of you are paid subscribers. I’m trying to reframe this pause into something sacred: a permission-giving to be in process, to be not yet ready, to be in the gooey liminal in-between state. Instead of a fully-formed, cohesive newsletter, I wanted to share some things that I’ve been thinking about/enjoying/giving my attention to lately:
Finished reading — and really loved — Johanna Hedva’s newest book with maybe one of the best titles ever Your Love is Not Good. Read this if you like thinking about art, motherwounds, and relational trauma.
I cannot wait for Barbie:
New season of Too Hot to Handle, my fav reality dating show, has begun. They Trojan horse in therapy to a bunch of singles who can’t emotionally commit and teach them how to care about a group of people. It’s INCRED.
Spent time at the ocean with a dear pal on Saturday, and while the ocean decided that it was time to say goodbye to my sunglasses, I’m continually amazed by the power of water to chill out my nervous system.
Have been easing into nesting with my partner and my two cats:
Am thinking about JOINING A GYM (this is huge) — but it’s A QUEER GYM!!! Let’s see if I can heal some of that gym class trauma!
Oh and I turned 38 on July 8th. Had the most incredible chart reading for the year ahead with Olivia Pepper and can’t wait for my third house profection year.
Am having moments of missing my IG community, but am also so grateful for the quiet and the decrease of sensory overwhelm. The battle between my Cancer sun and Sag rising is real.
Am attending this workshop on Tuesday:
I finally decided that I want to be a human who wears a bikini bottom that shows off a lot of ass, and am fully entering what my friend Krys is calling “ass and labour movement summer” with these bottoms from Riot.
Thanks for reading this far. Appreciate you being here and am looking forward to sharing some new writing with you vv soon!
