Wow. I mean this one made me cry. People really do always say "real love is easy" yet it's actually the hardest thing I've ever done/will ever do--especially when secure attachment is something you have to retrain your mind, body and soul to learn. Thank you so much for sharing Margeaux, your shared thoughts are healing!

You're so so welcome Alex! I know how hard it is -- and how rewarding when everyone puts in the work <3

👏👏 I need a class action lawsuit for Mr. Big alone

No but really, these movies convinced me at a deep level that took decades to root out that the “male lead” is always the avoidant, emotionally detached, externally successful guy. So that’s who I would cast. And spoiler alert: My patience, affection and wit were never ever rewarded with a satisfying character arc.

I remember watching She's All That in a movie theater when it came out in my early 20s. I remember we snuck in bottles of Mike's hard lemonade, and just as the credits came up, one of the bottles fell and rolled a long, slow, loud roll all the way to the front. That's all I remember about the movie really. Good luck to all the generations with their love lives, because no one is paying attention, and no one cares. Better to spend your energy learning how to grow food that you can eat, or building structures you can sleep underneath at night.

Hahaha wow I love that memory. Thanks for sharing. The optimistic and forever hopeful romantic in me is rooting for all of the other generations who're having to figure out how to love. Even just watching new shows and movies that are so much queerer and more emotionally intelligent makes my heart so full of hope. But like also yes, let's learn how to grow food and build skills too!
